George Murugu

Senior Partner

Murugu is a Senior Partner in the firm and has over 20 years of practice experience in litigation and arbitration. He heads the Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Department. Murugu has extensive litigation experience and has effectively and successfully represented corporate bodies in various matters, including election petitions following Kenya’s most recent elections. Murugu has extensive experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution. He acts as counsel and arbitrator in various commercial arbitration matters. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Charles Rigoro

Charles is a seasoned legal professional specializing in various areas including commercial law, land and property law, tax, insurance, and banking and finance law. He offers expertise in commercial litigation, particularly in Election Petitions and political parties nomination disputes resolution. His extensive experience extends to advising clients on property law matters such as bank security documentation, property conveyancing, land transactions, and debt recovery. Additionally, Charles handles company incorporations, mergers, bankruptcies, and liquidations. He has served in leadership roles on boards of State Corporations and possesses a strong background in corporate business strategy and contemporary practices.

Patrick Okoth

David Gatheru

Senior Associate

David Gatheru Kamau holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 8 years’ experience. Gatheru has gotten widespread experience in various departments at M.R LAW where he specializes in Alternative Dispute Resolution as well as Transactional and Advisory Services. He has diverse experience from both public and private sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Gatheru obtained extensive practice experience during his engagements as a pupil at the firm of Henia Anzala & Co Advocates. He is equally experienced and proficient in Appellate Advocacy, and has successfully represented high profile clients across the various Courts in matters Commercial law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Employment and Labour Law, Family Law, Environment and Land Law, Electoral Law, Insurance Law and General Litigation. Isaac Odhiambo

Mr. Odhiambo is in the Litigation and legal Advisory department at the law firm with thirteen (13) years post admission practice experience. He holds a supervisory role in terms of the firm’s structure which role enables him to organize the day to day running of the office and staff within the organization. Mr. Odhiambo holds an associate position in the firm and has thirteen (13) year experience in various fields. He handles various matters for various clients, including but not limited to matters relating to Commercial law, Energy law, Litigation and Dispute Resolution. His other areas of practice include Arbitration, Constitutional and Administrative law, Contract law, corporate law, Employment and Labor law and Electoral law including Election Petitions running from pre-electoral disputes to election petitions since the year 2012 to date. Mr. Odhiambo has extensive experience in Client handling which is an integral part of the day to day running of an organization. He also has extensive training in disaster management which training and expertise is not limited to contingency planning, disaster economics, internal law and armed conflict and internally displaced persons. He has also acquired extensive knowledge and training in the field of data protection an emerging area in law.
